VALUELESS CHEQUES
YOUNG MAN SENT TO GAOL. .(Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 7. A sentence of six months with hard labour was imposed on Hugh Anthony Parker, aged 28, by Mr Mosley, S.M., to be followed by 18 months’ reformative detention. The accused pleaded guilty to obtaining goods and money by means of valueless cheques here, at Hastings and on the Limited express. It was stated that he came from Australia and had collected “quite a list” since he came over.
