AIR SERVICES
NEW ZEALAND AIRWAYS SEEK LICENSES.
(Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 7. Applications for three air service licenses will be made by New Zealand Airways, Ltd., to the Transport Coordination Board which will meet in Wellington on Thursday next. The proposed services cover wide territory and embrace \ both Islands, although no inter-island service is contemplated. The first application is for a service connecting Gisborne with Auckland via Whakatane, Rotorua and Hamilton, with a further link northward to Whangarei. An alternative Auckland- Wellington route * to that granted to Great Pacific Airways is the second license sought. The’ route proposed travels through Wairarapa and up the East Coast, stopping places being Masterton, Dannevirke, Napier, Taupo, Rotorua and Hamilton. The third is a Christchurch-Dunedin service via Central Otago, the route being Christchurch, Timaru, Cromwell, Queenstown, Dunedin, with the ngnt to call at Ranfurly or Roxburgh,
