BRITISH CABINET
RECONSTRUCTION COMPLETE. NATIONAL CHARACTER PRESERVED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 8 p.m.) London, June 7. The list of the reconstituted Cabinet will be issued to-night after Mr MacDonald and Mr Baldwin have seen the King. It will be found to be of a national character with the Government completely preserved; indeed the Liberal element is expected to be as strong as prior to the defection of the Samuel group. MR MACDONALD’S EXIT FRENCH COMMENTS DIFFER. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 12.45 a.m.) Paris, June 7. “Pertinax,” commenting on Mr MacDonald’s retirement in the Echo _ de Paris, declares that the Prime Minister during the past year seemed a complaisant, disillusioned puppet _ and a familiar figure in great houses in London. All hope placed in him proved false. His European projects failed, and practical moderate Socialism had negligible results. Le Journal, on the contrary, pays a tribute to Mr MacDonald’s graceful exit from politics.
