CHILLED BEEF
INDUSTRY COME TO STAY. SUPERSEDING FROZEN CARGOES. (Per United Press Association.) Mastertoil, June 6. Some experts are of the opinion, it is stated on good authority, that within two years the chilled beef trade will practically supersede the frozen. The proportion of chilled to frozen beef quarters shipped this season is about one to six, but probably that percentage of chilled will now increase more rapidly. Since February, 1933, 23 shipments have been made by T. Borthwick and Sons, mostly from the Wainga works. The firm now considers the industry has come to stay and is regarded as commercially successful.
