The motor vessel Gardiner (previously known as the Black Cat) arrived at Bluff yesterday from Port Chalmers, with a launch in tow, at 3.35 p.m. Apart from the above vessel's arrival, no shipping movement was recorded at Bluff yesterday and no vessel is expected now before Monday next. The Waimarino, now at Auckland, sails to-day for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. She is due at Bluff on June 13 and sails the same day for Dunedin. The Westmoreland advises by radio that she will arrive at Bluff from Adelaide on SU The y Waitaki sailed from Melbourne for Bluff at 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday and should reach here on Monday. She has transhipments ex the Chitral, Otranto, Gamaria, Stassfort and Talyin. - The Canadian Cruiser is now scheduled to reach Bluff from Melbourne on June 14. The Hertford sailed from Liverpool last Saturday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Diinedin. She is due at Auckland ° n The ly ionlc, which left Lyttelton on May 10 for Southampton and London, sailed from C °The Karamea, which left Wellington on May 10 for London, via Cape Horn and Las Palmas, sailed from Rio de Janiero on June 1. She did not call at Montevideo. . The Cardiff steamer Beatus arrived at Auckland from Gulf of Mexico ports last Saturday night and berthed at Kings Wharf to unload cargo for Auckland. She will also unload at New Plymouth. Wellington. Lytteiton and Dunedin. She has sulphur from Galveston, lubricating oil. grease and paper from Port Arthur, general cargo and tractors from New Orleans and asphalt from Tampico. Exceptionally fine weather was experienced during the voyage, which was laid up in the ports of Great Britain and Ireland on April 1 snows a striking decrease of 172,717 tons, when compared with the figures of idle tonnage on January 1. The decrease is actuallv equivalent to 19.7 per cent, of the total of idle British shipping.
