OBITUARY

MRS A. E. BLUNDELL. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 4. The' death occurred to-day of Mrs Annie Elizabeth Blundell, widow of the late Louis Proctor Blundell in her seventy-ninth year. Mrs Blundell was a daughter- of the late Captain Coker, of Christchurch, and had lived in Wellington since 1879 when she was. married to the late Louis Blundell, one of the founders of the Evening Post who died last November. She leaves two sons, Mr John Louis Blundell, who is engaged in farming, and Mr Leonard Coker Blundell, director of the Evening Post, and one daughter, Mrs Noel Nelson. Mrs Blundell took an active interest in the affairs of the city. She was connected with the St. John Ambulance Association and during the war period greatly assisted in the work performed by the Victoria League and Red Cross. She received the decoration of M.B.E. from his Majesty in recognition of her services. She joined with her husband in presenting the largest bell (Reo Wairua) to the National War Memorial. She was a generous helper of charitable and benevolent organizations. MR E. G. PILCHER. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 4. The death occurred to-day of Mr Ernest Gregory Pilcher, Bom in Wellington in 1860, he was for many years connected with the Railway Department. He subsequently becam secretary of the Greymouth Point Elizabeth Coal Company. He is survived by his widow, four sons and one daughter. DR ALEXANDER PATERSON. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, June 4. The death occurred this evening of Dr Alexander Paterson of Christchurch, recognized as one of the leaders of the dental profession in New Zealand.
