LIMBLESS SOLDIERS
PROBLEM OF EMPLOYMENT. DEPUTATION TO MINISTERS. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, May 2. The difficulties experienced by limbless returned soldiers in Wellington in obtaining employment were pointed out to the Acting-Prime Minister and the Minister of Pensions by a deputation which waited upon them to-day. A request was made that consideration should be given to the claims of these men when engaging liftmen and messengers for Government departments. When replying, the Hon. E. A. Ransom said that he would go into the question with the Hon. J. G. Cobbe.and see what could be done in the way of employing limbless men. ' ‘ It was explained by the deputation that in Wellington there were 16 or 17 limbless returned soldiers definitely out of work. It was for these men particularly that the deputation sought as- , sistance.
