STRIKE AT ABATTOIRS
HIGHER WAGES DEMANDED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Brisbane, February 14. The members of the three unions employed by the Brisbane abattoii’s have decided to remain on strike until their demands for higher wages, shorter hours, and longer holidays are granted. As a result of the strike Brisbane will be faced with a meat shortage at the week-end and chilled beef exports will be stopped.
