TENNIS MATCH. (From Our Correspondent.) The local team played the third match in the second round of the competition at Waimatuku on Wednesday when they met and defeated Riverton by a margin of eight games, sets being even. The following are the scores, Waimatuku names being mentioned first:—
Ladies’ Singles.—Miss G. Lindsay 7 v. Miss E. More 2; Miss Macpherson 2 v. Miss P. McDougall 7; Mrs Worthington 1 v. Miss Wilkinson 7; Miss McKenzie 5 v. Miss Tweedie 7.
Men’s Singles.—W. McKenzie 9 v. A. McKenzie 3; H. Southern 9 v. R. Hunter 7; J. Worthington 6 v. A. Helm 9; N. Young 7 v. W. De Clifford 9. Ladies’ Doubles.—Misses Lindsay and Macpherson 7 v. Misses More and McDougall 2; Mrs Worthington and Miss McKenzie 2 v. Misses Wilkinson and Tweedie 7.
