A VISITOR’S PRAISE.
To the Editor.
Sir, —I have come through by motor and rail from Canterbury lately, and as a farmer I have toured around the province of Southland a good bit during the week. I am simply astonished at the green pastures and good crops of oats. The turnip crops seem patchy, ■but one paddock of • swede turnips growing on the property of Mr Alex Souness, Bayswater, is outstanding and would be hard to beat at this stage ainywhere.—l am, etc. GEORGE HARRIS, Temuka.
