DISTRICT PICNIC. (From Our Correspondent.) • Although a strong wind was blowing it was sheltered within Mr Bell’s paddock, which was the venue of the annual district picnic on Wednesday y afternoon. Tait 1, O. Beer 2, W. Barraclough 3. A meeting was held in the hall on Saturday evening of the Ex-Pupils’ Association of the Woodlands School. Mr M. P. Schmidt presided. In the election of officers for the ensuing year Mr Schmidt was re-elected president and Mr John Sadlier, jun., was re-elected secretary. In giving the annual report Mr Schmidt stated that socially and financially last year’s function, which took the form of a ball in the hall, was a great success. The association had a credit of over £22. After discussion as to what was the most suitable form of social function to hold, the meeting decided to hold another ball this year. This will take place on the 31st inst.
