RELIEF WORKERS

PICNIC AT BLUFF. The Invercargill Branch of the Southland Provincial Relief Workers’ Organization have arrangements well advanced for their monster picnic to be held at Bluff on Saturday, February 2, for all Relief Workers and their families of Invercargill and surrounding districts. The response of the general public has exceeded all expectations in respect of donations of goods and trophies, but cash donations are still needed. An anonymous donor, through the Southland Times Co., Ltd., has provided a special train so that the outing will be free of cost to all relief workers. Relief workers who intend taking advantage of the opportunity of attending this picnic must leave their names, together with the number of children travelling, at the office of the Organization, 10 Tay Street, before 8 p.m. tomorrow.

The committee gratefully acknowledge donations from the following:—Self Help Ltd., T. Metcalfe, F. W. Preddy, A. Shee, W. Tressler, A.
