HAUPTMANN CASE

EVIDENCE FOR PROSECUTION.

The prosecution to-day began to complete its evidence with the introduction of the ladder allegedly used in the kidnapping and a witness from whom Hauptmann had rented a house in the Bronx, who declared that the flooring boards in the attic had disappeared and another witness who testified that this boarding was used for the ladder. Two other witnesses identified Hauptmann as the man whom they saw several times in New Jersey during the weeks immediately before the kidnapping.
