POSITION IN CANADA CLAIM FOR GREAT REDUCTION SUMMER DISSOLUTION (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Ottawa, January 22. The Premier (Mr R. B. Bennett) announced in the House of Commons that unemployment had been reduced from a peak total of 750,000 to fewer than 500,000 now. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr W. L. The Premier asserted that there was no evidence that Canadians were anxious for an immediate general election. The dissolution would be likely to occur during the summer.
