She worked general cargo and was expected to complete Jatq last

night and sail about 3 a.m. to-day for her northern ports, via Dunedin. , The C. and D. Line steamer Port Campbell left Dunedin yesterday for Bluff, and is due to berth this morning. After loading for the Home market she sails early next week for Gisborne. The Maheno which is due at Bluff from Melbourne on Monday morning at 4.45 a.m. has transhipments ex the Drama, Cathay, Baltanald, Jervis Bay, Talleyrand, Ascanlus and Neptan. The vessel left Melbourne on Thursday. The Waitaki was to leave Auckland yesterday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. She is flue at Bluff on Thursday and sails the next day for Dunedin. The Waikouaiti will leave Sydney on Monday and should arrive at Bluff next Saturday. The Marine Department advises on the authority of Captain Simpson, of the Government steamer Matal, that there is a rocky ledge trending N.E.-S.W. for about 60 feet with a least depth of 15 feet in a position approximately 343 deg 3 cables from Cape Stephens, Stephens Island Passage. A further examination of the locality will be made at a later date. The Shaw. Savill and Albion steamer Mamari is reported to have reached Kingston. Jamaica, en route from London to Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, Bluff and Napier. She is due at Lyttelton about December 26. The Tanker Toorak is reported to be en route from Ballk Papan with a cargo of motor spirit for discharge at Auckland and Wellington. She is expected at Auckland about December 20. The vessel was formerly the Voco. The Union Company’s chartered steamer Narbada is delayed at Calcutta owing to the stevedores’ strike. The vessel was scheduled to leave Calcutta early this month for Penang. Singapore and Samarang to complete loading for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. She was expected to reach Auckland early in January. After an absence of a month, during which time she has been undergoing overhaul at Nelson and in the Wellington dock, the Arahura has replaced the Kaitoa in the Nelson-Wellington ferry service. The Matson liner Monterey arrived at Sydney at 7.30 o’clock on Monday morning en route from Auckland to Melbourne. In order to cater for vacation tourists the vessel will remain six days in Melbourne, instead of the usual two days. She will leave Melbourne on December 12. Sydney on December 15 and Auckland on December 18 for Los Angeles and San Francisco, via Island ports. At Pago Pago she will connect with the Mariposa, which is due at Auckland from Los Angeles on December 28. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s new motor ship Waipawa has reported by wireless that she will arrive at Auckland from Liverpool this evening. She has cargo from West Coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and Timaru. The vessel will load at Bluff. She is the second of the three new motor ships ordered by the company. Hie first vessel, the Walwera, is now en route from New Zealand to England. Captain J. W. Johnson, previously of the Taranaki, Is in command of the Waipawa, and Mr G. N. Robertson, formerly in the Raranga, is chief engineer. Mr R. T. B. Watts is chief steward and Mr P. O'Mailly is ship’s surgeon. Three vessels have been chartered by G. H. Scales. Limited, to load wool in New Zealand for Dunkirk, London and Hull. The Benreoch is due at Port Kembla from Japan on December 7. After bunkering she will proceed to Picton, Napier, Tologa Bay, Wellington, Lyttelton and Timaru. She is scheduled to reach Picton on December 13 and to clear Timaru for London on January 5. She will be followed by the AngloCanadian, which will commence loading in New Zealand early In February and will clear Wellington for London about February 25. The third vessel will be the Ardenvohr, which will unload cargo from New York in New Zealand and Australia. She will return to New Zealand from Australia to load during March and April.
