APPLES AND PEARS
CONFERENCE OF GROWERS. AUSTRALIA REPRESENTED. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, November 13. Four representatives, Messrs J. B. Mills (president), G. W. Brown, H. A. Court and C. H. Cane, have been sent by the Australian Apple and Pear Council to confer with the New Zealand Fruit Export Control Board on market , difficulties confronting . apple and pear exporters in Australia and New Zealand with a view to taking co-operative action leading to an improvement in marketing conditions. At the commencement of the conference to-day, the following resolution was carried unanimously:—“That this conference of accredied representatives of the apple and pear section of the Australian and New Zealand fruitgrowing industry expresses approval and endorsement of the valuable work of the conference of Empire fruit-pro-ducing interests held in London last June, and reaffirms the principle of the right of the United Kingdom primary producer to first preference in his own home markets.”
