SPECIAL CERTIFICATE GRANTED.

Sydney, November 13. Mr C. T. P. Ulm’s special certificate of airworthiness,was obtained just before sailing for Canada and was issued only for his proposed Pacific flight The total permissible weight is 98001 b, enabling 580 gallons of fuel to be carried and giving a range of about 3600 miles. It must not be flown with the maximum load unless the aerodrome and other conditions are favourable; also the speed must not exceed 140 miles an hour.
