Miss Joan Cooper, of Temuka, has joined the staff of the Karitane-Hunt Hospital.
Miss Hope Pinckney, who has been the guest of Miss Tripp, Orari Gorge, has returned south.
Misses E. M. Goodsir, H. Price, and I. Brown (Invercargill) are guests at the Hotel Federal, Christchurch. Mrs J. G. Macdonald, Otatara, leaves to-day for Christchurch where she will meet Dr Macdonald on his return from Australia.
Mrs A. D. Sutherland and Miss Gordon, who visited Riverton for the wedding of their niece, Miss W. Gordon, have returned to Drmedin.
Mrs E. J. Traynor, of Wyndham, was the guest of Mrs F. C. Delany, Packe street, Christchurch, for the Brown— Delany wedding, last Monday.
Miss Nancy Noakes of Auckland, who was the guest of Mrs C. Huntly Gordon, Riverton, for the Noakes—Gordon wedding leaves for the north this morning. On Monday afternoon, the members of the Garden Circle of the Women’s Club motored to the Seaward Bush Scenic Reserve, which is beautiful at present. Through the courtesy of the Superintendent of Reserves, Mr B. P. Mansfield, arrangements for afternoon tea had been made. Of particular interest was the finding, in the course of a walk through the bush, of a newlyerected pump which has b.een sunk 28 feet to enable picnickers to draw fresh water for their billies.
