“Bonzer” was once the great Australian word when an Australian wanted to approve of something. “Boskeri” was also a favourite, and more lately “Good-oh” held the field. Now all these three have virtually disappeared, and are used only by the most suburban and ill-informed. They have given place to “Gorgeous.” It is somewhat incongruous to hear a large Australian use this rather feminine word, but used it is, to the exclusion of all its predecessors.
