CREW PAID OFF

TEES LAID UP INDEFINITELY. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, November 7. The crew of the Chatham Islands steamer Tees was paid off this morning and the vessel will be laid up indefinitely. This is as’ the result of a dispute whether the crew should receive watersider’s rates when they work the cargo at the Chathams. The owners refuse to grant this.
