Mr Paul Holze, of Sydney, Mr E. H. Ferguson, of Dunedin, Mr and Mrs A. V. Shorter, of Wellington, and Dr. Malcolm Brown, of Seacliff, are among the guests at the Grand Hotel. Mr W. A. Gimblett, secretary 5 returned by car from Christchurch last evening. The opportunity was taken during their trip north to inspect the harbours and the port facilities at Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Oamaru, Timaru and Lyttelton. Mr John W. Bond has been transferred from the head office of the Public Trust, Wellington, to the Gore branch, where he commenced his duties yesterday. Mr Bond, who formerly resided at Freshford, was educated at the Gore High School and commenced in the Wellington office over five years ago. A good Rugby player, he _ has taken part in club football in Wellington and should be an acquisition to the game in. Gore. At the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Dimedin Returned Soldiers’ Association on Tuesday night advice was received that Major-Gen-eral Sir Alexander Godley. and Lady Godley were expected to arrive at Bluff from Melbourne on December 27. They will proceed to Dunedin, arriving on December 31, and will be the guests of Sir James Allen. After a visit to the West Coast Sounds and to Queenstown, Sir Alexander and Lady Godley will proceed to Oamaru on January 7 in continuance of their tour of the Dominion.
