WOMEN’S DIVISION

MAKAREWA BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Makaerwa branch of the W.D.F.U. was held on Thursday, Mrs McDowell presiding over a large attendance. The roll call, “A health hint,” was well responded to by members, while the competit'on for best buttonhole was won by Mrs Neas, Mrs Kidd being second. Sister Rattray, of Lorne Hospital, gave a very instructive address on bandaging, also showing the correct method of applying same to various parts of the body. A hearty vote of thanks to Sister Rattray was proposed by Mrs George. The roll call for next month is “My favourite flower, and why,” and the competition, “Best arranged vase of flowers.” The demonstration will be a Christmas cake decoration.
