OPPOSED TO WAR
VICTORIA COLLEGE STUDENTS. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, July 17. Their opposition to the stated policy of the New Zealand Government in deciding to increase the expenditure for the purposes of defence, was expressed by Victoria College students in a motion passed to-night at a meeting convened by the College Labour Club to determine the student attitude toward war. Speakers representing various student activities addressed the meeting, after which a motion was carried by a large majority affirming the meeting’s opposition to the war preparations by the New Zealand Government and agreeing that the motion be forwarded to the Prime Minister and the Press.
