SENTENCED TO GAOL
MAINTENANCE NOT PAID FOR WIFE. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 8. Expressing disappointment and surprise at the lack of candour shown by David James Richards in giving to the Court a detailed account of his financial dealings, Mr Stillwell, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court sentenced Richards to imprisonment unless he pays maintenance for his wife and child. Richards began an abusive attack on his wife and at the Magistrate’s direction was removed from the Court by an orderly.
