EMBARGO ON STOCK
SUPPORT FOR REMOVAL. CANTERBURY A. AND P. ASSOCIATION. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, April 11. Support for the removal of the present embargo on the importation of stock from Great Britain to New Zealand was given by the general committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association at its meeting this afternoon. The embargo was discussed at the annual meeting of the association recently and it was left to the general committee to deal with. After a discussion the following resolution was carried by 18 votes to nine:. “That the present embargo on the importation of stock from Great Britain be removed and that importations be allowed, provided the New Zealand quarantine period be extended to three months.”
