MERINO SHEEP
PROHIBITION OF EXPORT. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Sydney, April 10. The annual conference of the Graziers’ Association of New South Wales urged the continuance of the prohibition of the export of Merino breeding sheep. EXPORT BAN TO CONTINUE. (United Press Assn. —Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 9.50 p.m.) Sydney, April 10. The Federal Minister of Commerce, Mr F. H. Stewart, told the graziers’ conference to-day that there was not the slightest possibility of the prohibition against the export of stud Merino sheep being lifted, but there was no prohibition against the export of Polwarts and Corriedales, which if not permitted by Australia could easily be exported by New Zealand, so why not allow Australian studmasters to have the benefit of this trade? he asked.
