STORE DESTROYED
OUTBREAK OF FIRE. INCENDIARISM ALLEGED, (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, April 9. A fire in Langdon’s road, near Papanui, at eight o’clock last evening destroyed an apple store and contents owned by Mr G. Illingworth, who estimates his total loss at £lOOO. The building was insured for £250 with the A.P.A. Company. How the fire originated is not known, but Mr Illingworth is certain it was done deliberately. He passed the shed at seven o’clock, and heard a rattling of boxes in a corner. The fact that the fire began in the same corner led him to believe that it was not accidental.
