STAR OF SOUTHLAND LODGE. The bi-monthly meeting of the Star of Southland Lodge No. 14 was held at their rooms. Don street, on Saturday evening, W.M. Bro. A. Walker presiding over a full attendance of officers and members. One candidate was proposed, one balloted for and one initiated. . . A committee was set up consisting of Bros. Walker, Pearce, Winwood and McConechy to confer with Sister J. Hughes and the secretary in regard to making the juvenile lodge more attractive. D.G. Master Wor. Bro. Wallace informed the lodge that an application had been forwarded to the Grand Secretary for a dispensation to open a lodge at Makarewa. He spoke at length on its possibilities and the material benefit it would give to the order in Southland.
