(From Our Correspondent.) The threshing mill has been busy in : the district lately. Most of the bar-| vesting operations are now completed i and with the approach of winter the farmers’ slack season is at hand. Misses Richards and Arthur - and Messrs Swale and Frew have been the guests of Mr and Mrs A. Richards, Tewaewae, during the Easter holidays. Mr and Mrs J. Baird, Invercargill, spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs W. Baird, Tewaewae. Messrs P. and J. Graham, Mataura, are the guests of Mr and Mrs T. O’Brien. Miss L. Howells spent the Easter vacation as the guest of Mrs H. Printz, Ruahine. Mr and Mrs R. W. Horrell leave this week for a motor trip through the Catlins district to Dunedin. Mrs Geisig, accompanied _ by . Miss Dorothy Horrell and Mrs Geisig, visited friends in Gore during the Easter holidays. Mrs Simon Alderson and her small son, Wreys Bush, are the guests of Mrs_ R. Alderson. ■

Mrs Findlay, Orawia, who has been the guest of Mrs B. C. Horrell for the past week, motored to Oreti on Tuesday to spend a month with Miss Jean Findlay. Mr and Mrs A. Dickson, Invercargill, were the guests of Mrs R. Whyte during Easter. Miss Mary Findlay, who was the guest of Mrs B. C. Horrell for Easter, returned to Kapuka on Tuesday.
