COUSIN BETTY’S LETTER

My Dearest Dears, — Now that Easter has come and gone we must settle down for the Winter and really get going with our Clan work. This is going to be just * tiny letter to you because I don’t want to write any more about the Clans until I hear from everyone. The Gore cousins are nearly settled and I am thrilled to hear from Cousin Raney Gough of a Clan at Richmond Grove. However, no more Clan chat till next week when I hope you will all be in full swing and I will post you your notebooks. Our Cousin Lesley Shand has a “Plan”! I do love plans, don’t you, my dears? Here it it:— STORY WRITING COMPETITION. JUNIOR SECTION (for Cousins under fourteen). Story entitled “The Seller of Stars.”—Entry fee 6d. SENIOR SECTION (for all Cousins fourteen and over). Story (any subject).—Entry fee 1/-. An excellent prize will be given to the winner in each section. Entry must reach Miss Lesley Shand, c/o The Manse, Arthur Street, Winton, on or before May sth, 1934. Now the idea is that the proceeds go towards the funds of the Winton Clan. A lovely prize will be given and I want such a lot of you to enter. If any others of you have plans DO write and tell me all about them. And now, before I leave you, my darlings, I want to say how many times our Autumn Page has been praised. Isn’t that fun? You certainly all made a supreme effort and the result was excellent. I am putting in some late Autumn Page entries this week so we will leave the mind sharpeners till next Saturday. All my love,
