A Nc hern Regatta Programme.
I have to hand a copy of the Hamilton Club’s programme for its annual Regatta and Carnival, held this season on January 29. By far the most handsome publication of its kind that I have seen, it comprises 24 pages, attractively bound. A feature which could well be copied by local clubs is the inclusion of a plan of the rowing course, fully detailed. Canoeing is evidently a very popular branch of aquatics in Hamilton, as no fewer than 10 canoe events figure on the programme. Lightweight rowing is well supported, as is evidenced by the entry of nine crews in a maiden four event. There were eight contestants for the single sculls handicap trophy, and the eight-oar challenge race was fought out between the Hamilton and St. George crew. In addition to the usual lists ot crews and club colours, the names of all the coxswains are published, as well as two attractive musical programmes, by the Waikato Regimental Band and the South Auckland Caledonian Pipe Band respectively. & Two further interesting features are photos, one of the Hamilton senior four crew, former New Zealand champions, and one of the regatta course, on the Waikato river-.
