At the wool sales 11,482 bales were offered and 11,386 sold, 1296 being disposed of privately. The market continues to display a hardening, tendency. Competition was well distributed and the demand on German account was again pronounced. Greasy Merino sold to 35d for five bales from Rylston and five from Yass. Tire sale is reported of 100,0001 b. of Patagonian fine wools at 26 cents a pound, a price unequalled since 1920. Other large lots sold at 25 cents. Prices have been rising steadily since the new season opened on October 1 due to heavy export demands strengthened lay Japanese competition, hitherto inactive in Argentina.
