The Tamatea returned from her week-end run to Stewart Island yesterday at 9.40 a.m. with passengers and mails.. The steamer Kekeno arrived from Ruapuke Island at 5.45 p.m. yesterday with a cargo of sheep. The launch Pegasus, which came across from Stewart Island on Saturday afternoon,'left to return to the Island yesterday at 5.45 p.m. The Union Company’s steamer Poolta reached Bluff from Wellington shortly after midnight yesterday morning. She discharged general cargo and after loading for the north sailed in the early afternoon for Dunedin. _ . The Union Company’s Waikouaiti cleared Port Kembla at 2 p.m. on Saturday for Bluff, where she is due on Thursday. She will sail the same day for Dunedin. . The Union Company’s freighter Waipiata was scheduled to clear Wellington yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. Due at Bluff on Thursday, she will sail on Friday for Dunedin. The tanker Storanger left San Pedro on December 31 for Wellington, where she is due on January 25. The Mahia left Wellington on Thursday for Auckland. She will then proceed to Gisborne and Napier to complete loading, and will leave Napier on January 18 for London, via Panama. The R.M.S. The New motor ship Breeze, en route from Glasgow, left Port Natal on December 31 for Dunedin, via Fremantle. She is due at Dunedin about January 25, and will proceed to Lyttelton. The Napier Harbour Board has advised the Marine Department that the buoy marking Pania Reef, which was carried away last Sunday, has been recovered, and will be replaced in position as soon as possible. The Superintendent of Mercantile Marine at Auckland advises that the light on Tiritiri Island, in the Hauraki Gulf, which has been giving trouble for some days past, has now been adjusted and is working satisfactorily. The cable ship Recorder on Friday moored a cable buoy in position from Sinclair Head bearing 107 degrees, distant 11 miles. The buoy which was laid on December 22 has now been removed. PERSONAL ITEMS. Mr J. Dawson has joined the Karepo at Newcastle as chief officer, relieving Mr A. M. Lucas for Holidays. Captain W. A. Gray has taken command of the Tamahine, relieving Captain R. M. Kane for further orders. Captain G. A. Gray is in command of the Kiwitea, which recommissioned at Wellington this week. His deck officers are: Chief, Mr E. A. Buckingham; second, Mr J. S. Beaton; third, Mr L. L. Clark. Mr J. H. Petty has been appointed third officer of the Wainui, relieving Mr T. W. Germein, who has been transferred to the Kini in a similar capacity, relieving Mr H.
