LODGE MEETING. (From Our Correspondent.) The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Mataura Falls Lodge, Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows (No. 7616) was held on Thursday evening when there was a moderate attendance of brethren presided over by N.G. Bro. A. B. Sutherland.
Correspondence of a routine nature was received and dealt with while sick pay in favour of three brothers and medical aid accounts were directed to be paid. One proposition for membership was received and accepted by the meeting. The committee responsible for the recent Christmas Tree party for the children presented a statement of receipts and expenditure showing a small debit balance. The Noble Grand stated that the syllabus provided that next lodge night the married brethren would entertain their single brethren at a social evening and he trusted there would be a large attendance for the function.
