CRISIS SETTLED
BELGIAN AFFAIR. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright) (Rec. 11.40 p.m.) Brussels, January 5. The political crisis has been settled. Cabinet decided to reinstate officials of inferior rank while the cases of higher officials have been referred to a special tribunal. Herr Albert sent a message to Cabinet urging that it was not in the country’s interests for Ministers to resign.
A crisis threatened in Belgium because King Albert refused to sign demands for the withdrawal of a ministerial decree re-nominating functionaries dismissed after the war for cooperating with Germans during the occupation.
