At The Races

The weather was most disappointing for the Invercargill race meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday and feminine race-goers had no opportunity of wearing their summer creations. Raincoats and umbrellas were the order of the first day and on Wednesday the cold wind made fur coats or tweeds an absolute necessity. However, although the weather forbade the wearing of summer fashions it did not prevent the fair sex from wearing their best smiles and, judging by the general air of cheeriness, all seemed to have vowed not to let the bad weather “get them down.” Some of those present were:— Mesdames W.
