Archdeacon and Mrs and the Misses Lush are spending a holiday at Stewart Island.

Mr and Mrs C. C. Jennings, Thomson street, returned from the Eglinton Valley last week. Mrs R. N. Todd and her family have returned from their camping trip up the Eglinton valley. Miss Gladys Hill, of Timaru, has been the guest of Mr and Mrs L. R. Tayler, King street. Mr and Mrs F. M. Corkill, Gala street, returned on Tuesday from a holiday spent in Central Otago. Miss Grahame Cochrane, of Auckland, is the guest of Mr and Mrs G. T. Dawson, Bourke street. Miss Theresa Ward, of Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs Horace Macalister at Thule, Stewart Island. Miss Verna Grindlay is spending an extended holiday in Timaru. Later, she will visit Wellington.

Miss Robin Macdonald, left on Friday morning to spend a holiday with Mrs J. Burnett, Half Way Bay.

Mrs Sandford Cox, now of Dunedin but formerly of Invercargill, plans to sail for England early in March. Mrs H. W. Royds and Miss Marian Royds, Alice street, returned on Wednesday from the Rocks, Riverton. Mr and Mrs Morell Macalister, Dalrymple road, visited Te Anau and the Eglinton Valley during the week.

Mrs A. Owen-Johnston and her daughter left yesterday afternoon to spend a holiday at the Rocks, Riverton.

Miss Sheila Rankin, Yarrow street, is at present the guest of her sister, Mrs Bennetts, “Dunbarton,” Roxburgh.

Miss Alice Dawson, of Auckland, is spending the holidays with her parents, Mr and Mrs G. T. Dawson, Bourke street.

Mrs James Scully and family, of Antrim street, returned home during the week from their crib at the Rocks. >

Mrs F. C. Rowley and her family, leave on Tuesday for Middlemarch where they will be the guests of Mr J. Elliott, “Garthnyl.” Mr and Mrs A. H. Robins, who are spending the summer holidays in the north, are at present motoring through Nelson and Blenheim. Mrs Eric James, of Clinton, spent two days in Invercargill during the week as the guest of Mrs F. Brookesmith, Dalrymple road. Mrs Arthur Moffett, accompanied by her family and Miss Helen Buckham, of Christchurch, leaves to-day to spend a holiday at Stewart Island.

Miss Peggy Snow, Yarrow street, who spent the Christmas and New Year holidays at Stewart Island, returned home early in the week.

Mrs S. T. Anderson and Miss Margaret Anderson, who were the guests of Mrs L. W. Spencer, Albert street, returned to Dunedin on Tuesday. Miss S. Cameron, Esk street, who has been staying at Queenstown as the guest of Dr. and Mrs J. J. Gresham, of Gore, returned to Invercargill on Tuesday.

Miss Fisher, of Fendalton, Christchurch, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs Harris, Nelson street, will return to the north by the express tomorrow evening.

Mr and Mrs J. E. Bews and Miss Bews, Dalrymple road, who were the guests of Mrs Ron. McLeod, Geraldine, during the holidays, returned home by car on Wednesday.

Miss Nancy Hartmann, of Dunedin, arrived in Invercargill by the express last evening to spend a few weeks’ holiday as the guest of Mrs G. F. Tobin, Lewis street.

Mr and Mrs F. C. Beere, Ness street, have returned from Wanaka, where they camped for the New Year holidays. Miss Jean Grant, of Balfour, who has been the guest of Miss Ellen Pasco, Riddell street, returned home on Thursday. Mrs G. A. Stewart and Miss Sheila Stewart, are at present the guests of Mrs A. N. Holmes, Cumberland street, Dunedin.

Miss Clarice Anderson who spent the week-end in Mossburn as the guest of Mr and Mrs A. Reed and Mrs W. Beer, returned home on Monday. Accompanied by Mr S. Anderson, she also visited the Eglinton Valley.

The Misses Constance Columbus and Grace McCormack and Alma and Jim Chapman, of Christchurch, spent a night in Invercargill last week on their way to Queenstown where they intend spending part of their holidays. Mr and Mrs T. H. Robertson, Janet street, and Mrs J. R. Peterson, Avenal Road, have returned home after an enjoyable holiday spent at Te Anau, Manapouri and Eglinton Valley as the guest of Mr and Mrs H. Thompson.

Miss May Anderson, of Christchurch, who stayed with her cousin, Miss Jean McCrostie,. Grey street, at the Rocks, Riverton, for the holidays, returned home on Tuesday.

Miss N. Slattery, of Timaru, who has been spending part of the school holidays with Mrs George Crosbie, Brydone, left,this morning to spend a few weeks in New Plymouth. Mr and Mrs Victor Todd, St. Albans, Christchurch, and their small daughter, who have been the guests of Mr M. Summers, of Winton, returned home this week.

Misses Grace and Phyllis Findlay, of Invercargill, who spent Christmas and New Year with their aunts, the Misses Findlay, of Church street, Mosgiel, returned home by Tuesday’s express.

Mr and Mrs James Barnett and their daughter, of Christchurch, who spent Christmas and New Year with relatives in Dunedin, are at present motoring round the Southern Lakes district.

Miss Rosemary Rees, who has spent the greater part of the year in Gisborne, is returning to England, and will be a passenger on the Tainui which is scheduled to leave Port Chalmers today.
