RUGBY FOOTBALL
KICK-INTO-TOUCH RULE.
N.S.W. SEEKS DISPENSATION.
(United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 8.10 p.m.) Sydney, December 29. The kick-into-touch rule was discussed by the management committee of the New South Wales Rugby Union, with Mr S. S. Dean, chairman of the New Zealand Union, but no decision was reached. Mr Dean will report New South Wales’ attitude to the New Zealand Union and until word is received from New Zealand, New South Wales will not know where it stands with its proposed concerted appeal to the Home unions for a dispensation. New South Wales has not received any response from South Africa. It is understood that the All Black team will arrive about July 21 and leave in the middle of August. The New Zealanders’ English visit and the Springboks’ Australian visit made it difficult to arrange an Australian New Zealand tour, but an Australian team may visit the Dominion late in the 1935 season.
