COLUMBA’S CONVENT On Thursday afternoon the annual break-up ceremony of St. Columba’s Convent, Riverton, took place, a large gathering of parents and friends of the Sisters and pupils being present. Prior to the prize-giving, the pupils gave a short programme of musical, elocutionary and dancing items. The Rev. Father Fenelon, who presented the prizes, congratulated teachers and children on the splendid performance given that afternoon and also complimented the prize-winners. In a happy speech, the Rev. Father Columb referred’in eulogistic terms to the work accomplished during the past scholastic year. He made special mention of the sacrifices so cheerfully made by children who travelled long distances by rail in order to receive a religious education.
