COMMENTS. On the whole I enjoyed the entries on Friendship. Whatever you do, use your imaginations my cousins and don’t get into the habit of writing trite expressions. You must be careful of your spelling—there is no excuse for bad spelling for if you are not sure of a word you can always either look it up or ask some one. Poem for all cousins—“ Joy.” Prizes of 4 marks and 2/- to Cousins Margaret Jellyman (13), Otautau and Chrissie Ross (14), Dunedin. Highly Commended.—3 marks to Cousin Connie Jellyman (14), Otautau. Commended.—2 marks to Cousins Eugenie McKenzie (11) Bluff and Enid Cockerell (13), Dunedin. I mark to Cousin Lilian Todd (13), Toa. COMMENTS. Why is it that some of you can keep the right rhythm for the first few lines and then go quite wrong at the end of your poems ? When we start again after the holidays I shall have much to say to you on the subject of poetry. For the present I shall just say how pleased I am with the winning entries for this competition. ■ ' 276th COMPETITION. • (a) Story for cousins 13 and over, “Christmas Shopping.” (b) For cousins 12 and under—description of a sunny morning.
