NEW AERO CLUB

THE WEST COAST*

RECOGNITION GRANTED.

(Per United Press Association.)

Wellington, December 1. Acceptance to membership was granted the West Coast of the South Island Federated Aero Club (Inc.) by the Council of the New Zealand Aero Club to-day. The constituent clubs of the new area, with the present strength, are: Westport, 33; Greymouth, 152; Ikamatua, 23; Hokitika, 47; South Westland, 25; total, 280. The chairman, Mr G. M. Spence, made it clear that the West Coast Federated Club would be the last that would be admitted to membership, the policy of the Defence Department being to limit the number of federated clubs to 10. It was originally eight. For geographical reasons the West Coast Club was desirable, but now that New Zealand was completely covered, there was no possibility of the Department recognizing any other federated clubs.
