Different Types
Women were divided into four types by the Rev. Professor Eric S. Waterhouse, when he delivered a lunch hour lecture arranged by the Alliance of Honour in London yesterday. They were the Mannish Type, the Modish, the Minx, and the Mother. Here is what he said about them: The Mannish: Suffering from an inferiority complex, usually caused by the fact that as a girl she was made to feel inferior to her brothers or her male companions. Unconsciously tried to balance the inferiority sense by being a close imitation of a man.
The Minx: Used the privileges of her sex for her own selfish ends. Could be charming when it suited her, but when it no longer paid, out came her claws and the man got scratched. Very often the minx was highly excitable in company. When she got home she collapsed because she was mentally tired out; she slumped, and the man felt the effects of the slump. The Mother: The only type worth considering.
She understood what Nature meant women to be, and consequently she was the most natural. Nine women out of ten were happiest as married women with children. He had never known a really selfish woman the mother of a large family. “Choose your women friends by their temperament rather than by their looks,” was the Professor’s advice.
