HELP SOUGHT
STRICKEN FRUIT-GROWERS. APPEAL TO GOVERNMENT. (Per United Press Association.) Dunedin, October 28. Otago Central fruit-growers met at Alexandra last evening when the plight of the growers after the recent disastrous frosts was fully _ discussed and the prospects of obtaining work for orchard workers. One grower disclosed that he had four apricots left on 400 trees, while generally the growers suffered 75 per cent, to 100 per cent. loss. It was resolved to urge the Government to extend the small farm scheme and the 4A Scheme to include the affected growers; also to remit the rates or to spread the payment over five years from March, 1935,
