LODGE MEETING. (From Our Correspondent.) The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Mataura Falls Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., No. 7616, was held in the Oddfellows Hall on Thursday evening, P.G. Bro. A. W. Reid occupying the chair in the absence of the Noble Grand, Bro. A. B. Sutherland, who is holidaying m Wellington. Several brothers forwarded letters conveying fraternal greetings and enclosing dues. The usual amount of sick pay and medical aid accounts was directed to be paid, while a doctor s certificate was received declaring a brother off the funds of the lodge. The principal business was the raising, of a juvenile brother to the adult lodge, the ceremony being impressively carried out by the Noble Grand and his officers. Having regard to the fact that it was reported that several officers will be on annual holiday on the date, set down for the annual district officers visit, it was decided to write to them to ascertain if it would be possible for them to postpone their visit until December 7. The Christmas Tree Committee reported that preliminary arrangements had been made for this function. The lodge having adjourned the single brethren were entertained at cards and supper by the married members, when a happy social hour was held.
