DISPUTE OVER GIRL
FOUGHT OUT IN BOXING RING. It became known in Leicester recently that a boxing match between two local youths at a British Legion gala at Measham during the week-end was watched by a Burton-on-Trent girl concerning whom they had had a dispute. The girl was cool and collected until one of the boxers was floored twice in the fourth round and the fight was stopped. She rose as the beaten man crashed to the boards a second time and left the ringside. The victor turned towards the ringside seat, but the girl had disappeared. Both boxers are employed at local collieries, and it is understood that the dispute arose at a dance at Swadlincote which they and ■the girl attended. At the conclusion of the fight the youths shook hands and were given a great ovation. The winner said afterwards, “Her presence inspired me.” Both boxers refused to reveal the identity of the girl
