NOVICE RACE. A novice race to Roslyn Bush and back, a distance of 17 miles, was held on Saturday. The placings were as follows: Wood 1, W. Pickford 2, H. Grell 3, S. Bruland 4. Fastest time was gained by W. Pickford, who covered tfie distance in 58min 19 3-ssec.

THE DRUMMOND CLUB. (From Our Correspondent.) Sixteen members were present at the last meeting of the Drummond Amateur Cycling Club. Mr A. McFarlane was elected handicapper to the club on the motion of Messrs A. Ritchie and D. Lindsay. The 14-mile road race on November 4 was discussed and it was decided to give the following prizes: First 25/-, second 12/6, third 7/6 and fastest time 7/6 (all trophies) and the entry fee to be 2/-. It was decided that entries close with the secretary on Thursday, November 2. It was also resolved that the club donate a trophy or cup to the value of £3 3/- for the winner of most points during the coming season.

CYCLING DISPUTE. LEAGUE SUPPORTED. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, October 28. Referring to the cycling dispute, Mr J. Sturrock, chairman of the Council of the League of Wheelmen, said that as the result of telephonic, conversation with Wellington .to-day he had authority from Mr A. C. Kitto, president of the Wellington Amateur Athleic Centre to say that the New Zealand Cycling Council was prepared to drop out and let the league carry on, and that the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre believed that the League’s proposals were fair and reasonable and that the Wellington Centre was prepared wholly to support the league.

RACE AT WELLINGTON. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, October 29. It speaks volumes for the enthusiasm of Wellington amateur cyclists that such a large field turned out on Saturday afternoon to push 25 miles in the face of a heavy northerly and driving rain in the first road race held under the control of the new Centre League of New Zealand Amateur Wheelmen. R. Dutton, R. Taylor, M. Thompson and B. King were the first four home in that order, while W. Lusky, covering the distance in 69min 3 2-ssec. returned fastest time.
