MOTHER ASSAULTED
MAN SENT TO GAOL. (Per United Press Association.) Dunedin, October 27. Described by the Magistrate as a blackguardly and brutal assault upon his mother, Egbert Sainsbury Shore? aged 36, was sentenced to six weeks’ imprisonment. The police described the accused as a loafer. He went home under the influence of liquor, pushed his mother about, broke her spectacles, brandished a carving knife and threatened to cut her throat.
