CRICKET TESTS
LARWOOD ON BODY-LINE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, October 12. Harold Larwood, amplifying his refusal to play against Australia if ordered not to bowl body-line, declares: “If you start penalizing a bowler it is time cricket was finished. They would not penalize Bradman for scoring 300. Why should they penalize a bowler for dismissing him? It looks as though I have been sold body and soul in order to preserve the Tests. I cannot see Jardine accepting dictation on how to set the field or employ his bowlers.”
