Successful Dance

On Tuesday night, the Southland Technical College Old Students’ Association held their Fancy Dress Ball, and the last of their dances for the 1933 season in Smith’s - Hall. The hall was gaily decorated in coloured streamers and native ferns and shrubs, and to the snappy music supplied by the Ambassadors Dance Band 150 gaily costumed couples made a merry night of it. An unofficial party of officers and men from H.M.S. Dunedin further augmented the already large crowd. Prizes for the best costumes went to Miss D. Ryan in a costume of bygone days and Mr A. Cooper as Mephistopheles. The Lucky Spot dance was won by Miss H. Ryan and Mr N. McQuarrie and the Monte Carlo by Miss Collett and Mr Belsham.
