GERMAN PERSECUTION BIG DEMONSTRATION IN LONDON ANTI-NAZI BOYCOTT (United Press Assn. —Telegraph Copyright.) London, July 20. As a protest against persecution by Germany, 50,000 Jews demonstrated at Hyde Park. A procession two and ahalf miles long marched from the East End, including 1000 Jewish ex-service-men, bearded patriarchs and fathers leading their children. Banners urged the boycott of German goods. Nearly every shop in Whitechapel was closed, owners and employees joining in the procession. The Paris correspondent of the Daily Express says that to-day’s anti-Nazi demonstration in London electrified the immense German population in Paris. France has given a home to many of Germany’s former big men in science, literature, philosophy, art and the cinema. A mass attack on Hitlerite Germany is being planned from Paris. by her own former leaders. France is delighted at the turn of events, as she recognizes that Germany is now more isolated in Europe than any nation since Napoleon met his Waterloo. A French publishing house will shortly begin publishing German books recently burned in the streets of German cities by Herr Hitler’s orders. Nazis at Nuremberg arrested 300 Jewish business men and shopkeepers and paraded them through the streets headed and flanked by storm troopers. They were then locked in the barracks. The Jewish conference, attended by delegates from 30 countries, resolved to continue to organize throughout the world a boycott of German products and shipping.
